Targeted Proteins database
What is the Targeted Proteins database?
The explosion in information on protein systems and their involvement in disease has created a new challenge for drug researchers - how to identify, and act on, the information that’s really crucial from the drug industry’s perspective.
There is a clear need to gather, filter and critically evaluate this mass of information so that it can then be used in a way that enhances, rather than hinders, R&D efficiency. To fulfil this need, Current BioData Ltd. is developing the daily updated Targeted Proteins database (TPdb).
Monitoring proteins of crucial interest for drug R&D, the TPdb is designed to:
Gather new data published about these proteins by academia and industry
- bringing together the results of disparate research communities.
Consolidate the information and organise it into multiple scientific & commercial dimensions - making it useful for both researchers and business strategists involved in drug development.
Update the underlying information about each protein on a daily basis
- supplying the most up-to-date information available about each targeted protein.
Analyse the new data to find any new disclosures or information of interest to drug R&D - highlighting the more interesting information for immediate use by TPdb users.
Evaluate the filtered information via TPdb's "Virtual Academies" - providing commentary and opinions about the possible impact of this news on drug development.
